Senior Drilling Engineer

- Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
- Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
- Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
- Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
- Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
- Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
- Checks orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
- May provide direction to a team of checking personnel, ensuring the mathematical accuracy of the drawings produced.
- Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Provides technical guidance including training to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
- Shall carryout technical design reviews, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
- Collaborates with Engineers and other engineering disciplines to ensure quality of design.
- Performs interdisciplinary reviews and provides coordination of data to ensure a compatible design.
- May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.Understands and applies commonly used company design standards and methods.
- May assist in the establishment or revision of guidelines and standards.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Job Requirements
- 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) and 10 years of related work experience.
- Professional Engineer registration may be required.
- Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with drainage engineering is required.
- In particular must be proficient with 3d drainage design software and the interfaces with other up to date design software such as Civil3D, MX, Inroads, AutoCad, and Microstation.
- Relationships Reports to the Drainage Manager.
- Coordinates with the other Senior Engineers from Other Disciplines.
- Coordinates with Clients key staff and all Authorities in connection with obtaining NOCs.
